This Automatic Call Log is Highly Experi-"mental"
The fire call data is captured by Bumblebot, a less-than-intelligent A.I. speech-to-text application, then processed and cleaned up using a custom-written program and then uploaded to the website.
It's cleaned up as best as possible.
Bumblebot often messes up unit numbers, long addresses, and even street names. With some detective skills, you might be able to figure out the obscure ones.
Some Examples of the More Entertaining Translations:
- Taco One: Truck O1
- Chicago One: Truck O1
- Ninja 81: Engine 81
- Netflix: Medic 6
- Magic Tree: Medic 3
- Talk Dirty One: Truck 31
- Italian: Battalion
- One of my favorites from an address: ...Avenue Northeast cross street is between jobs
Deciphering Addresses:
- 15000: Could possibly be 1500 (try removing extra zeros from long addresses that don't make sense)
- Street Names: Street names are hit and miss
Worse Case:
You'll have a good timestamp for the call and if you have access to the Broadcastify scanner audio archives you'll be able to locate the call more easily.
Short Calls:
Sometimes, the bot abandons calls for unknown reasons. Sometimes there are multiple dispatches going out over the different dispatch frequencies. If one finishes, and the bot then picks up a partial dispatch on the next frequency, this can cause short call entries as it loses its mind deciphering the audio.
Strange calls or addresses:
If the bot doesn't pick up "cross street" or the type of the call then there will be extra or strange information in the call (not always helpful)
Strange calls and addresses from garbled audio:
If the automated dispatch voice audio is slightly garbled or stuttering, the bot won't pick it up correctly and call won't be of much use
Not all calls are accurate:
People are always quick to point out the errors in a system. WE KNOW. Welcome to Bumblebot.
Perhaps someday we'll be able to afford a real speech-to-text program, but until then we'll have to settle for Bumblebot.
This will hopefully give you some idea of what is going on in the area or what the sirens are responding to.
Just don't take it too seriously; it is very experimental and mostly for entertainment purposes at this time.
